Jamaica Pond Sunset
This was the first day I was able to bike around Boston with only two light layers, along with the benefit of the wind only being about 8 mph. I went down the corridor on my trip inbound, and on the way back by way of Jamaica Pond. I was quite surprised to see the ice sheet over the pond, it didn’t seem nearly cold enough for that.
Not to pass up on a sunset over a frozen pond I grabbed my tripod and the only lens I had with me, the 24-120. It turned out to be a terrific evening and sunset, very comfortable and relaxing. The sky was changing pretty rapidly over the few brief minutes just before the sun fell behind the hill. Right toward the end before the sun was gone I got a pretty significant splash of color.
All-in-all Jamaica Pond looked pretty clear and nice considering how the weather has been for the past week. I’m wondering how many more ice or snow days we’re going to have? I don’t shoot the Emerald Necklace as often as I’d like, but I really like this shot of the Pond in JP.
