Scarboro Pond at Franklin Park
There is certainly a night and day difference in the landscape between winter and summer, at Scarboro Pond. I had planned to come shoot this area once all the green grew back and everything bloomed. It’s really quite beautiful over here in the summer.
I was tooling along on the mobile photo studio (Trek 520) when I found myself over in this area quite by accident. There was such a stark difference from the last time I was here, I decided to shoot this pano while the pond was still mostly frozen. From the bridge I was on there’s a nice view in both directions, so I just flipped a coin.
Scarboro pond is home to many migrant birds. If you’re hear the right time of year you can see everything from Canadian geese, to red wing blackbirds, mallard ducks, cormorants and great blue heron.
